FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Image and Audio Description
[A 50 second animation entry for the zine. It starts with a book on top of a grey table, its contents represented by squiggly lines. Its pages turn, revealing a section with a black square, that then gets bigger until it zooms in and colors the entire screen, as a white-lined star forms into the canvas. The star gets bigger, then retracts again to form the shape of Siffrin’s back, with only a white lineart, colored similarly to Mal du pays with messy white lines,. Siffrin slowly turns to the viewer, while their hair and cloak sways to the wind, their eye coming into view as the camera zooms into Siffrin. As it zooms in, a white star forms into Siffrin’s eye, getting bigger as it zooms in, until the lines that make Siffrin’s character distorts to leave only the star, and a few lines that move similarly to the sway of his hair, Siffrin now unrecognizable.

The next scene features this big star fading away, opacity of the white doing down, until it switches to Siffrin again, still in white lines, front facing the viewer, still colored similarly to the last, hatless. He is looking up for a few frames, static. Siffrin blinks, retreats into their cloak, then their face goes up, eyes opening, screaming in time with the song’s singer, tears streaming down their face. His hair and cloak sways about for a few seconds, until his shapes distorts into several wiggly lines that disperse to reveal a sketch of the King’s face, seemingly crying, his eyes a blob of spiral white lines.

The next scene shows King in a down perspective, clenching his fist. It trembles before it opens, his form getting more and more distorted. Kings hand move away, as he’s going to make an attack, sketch getting blurry as it switches to the next scene, which is Siffrin again in white sketchy lines, looking scared, panting. Then, it shows the party, colored, everyone in battle poses, with the exception of Siffrin, who just looks apathetic, bored at most, standing closer than the rest to face the King. Then, it switches to uncolored king again, his hand raised up to point at someone, his figure static.

Next scene, the Head Housemaiden is seen at the right of the screen, smiling. Siffrin is further away from the viewer, his back showing, looking up at the background, that is a painted version of the top of the house, with the railing that shows the outside of the house. This background then blurs, switching to Siffrin in the railing, looking in the distance in the direction of the island, static for several seconds.> Next scene is Siffrin in the grass, looking at the sky, hair swaying in the wind, grass and hair moving along with it. Then it shows Siffrin in a forest, getting up. He moves to outside the frame.

Next scene is the favor tree, painted to look like a wisteria tree. Loop is sitting on one of the roots to the left, spacing out. Siffrin then appears on the right, and Loop waves to them as he approaches.

They are sitting on the opposite root of the tree, both looking sad. The camera zooms in on Loop, blinking as they look to Siffrin, seemingly sad. Their star head moves, and their skin fizzles as they do so. Then it shows Siffrin, a tired expression, retreating into their cloak.

Loop is standing up now, hand resting on the trunk of the tree, looking into the distance. Siffrin is nowhere to be seen anymore.

There is then a very close up of Siffrin’s face, exhausted, looking down, bags under their eyes, face slightly obscured by the cloak. After, it shows Siffrin on the Observatory Room, glancing up from the previous pose to look at the stars, looking haunted. A white highlight appears on their eyes, in time with the last few beats of the song. After this, just an empty grey background, probably for the end credits or being cut, later.

Song playing is FOREVER!!!!! by glass beach and WOW OK, cut towards the end. The lyrics are:

“I shouldn’t find myself as I find you

Take forever if you need to

The indent in your bed

A figure unassumed

I shouldn’t find myself as I find you

Take forever if I need to

The indent in your bed

A figure unassumed”

Jewelielie

Image Description [Animated looping PNG of Siffrin in the center of the screen. He is in the kitchen of the House of Change, staring dead-eyed straight ahead. Around him are three versions of the party members interacting around the scene and with each other. They have a slight blur and static effect. Between transitions to other scenes, there's a glitch effect applied. Siffrin stays perfectly clear and unchanging the whole time. End Image Description.]

Welcome

Video Description
[A video of sand slowly falling in a pile eventually fades out to reveal a collage over an A4 sized paper. The background of the top half of the paper is a photo of an island horizon, two hands descending while holding a star, and a hand in the foreground coming up to reach for the star.

In the top left corner is a scrap of black paper with the white handwritten words, “If you went into the water, would it take you? Would it recognize the blood in your veins as its own? Would you float like a corpse, or sink like a stone? Or would it expel you, reject you just as everyone else has?” Beside the paper scrap is word art that reads “Do what you love, love what you do,” as well as a cutout photo of a broken hand mirror.

A tag hanging from the bottom of the mirror handle reads “home sweet home.” The tag lays over a photo of a welcome mat and open door, near the center of the page. The word “no” is written repeatedly along the right edge of the page in big block letters. A circular sticker with a smiley face reading “don’t worry, be happy” has been torn in half to only show “don’t be.”

There’s a sticker of a crow above a white paper with black handwriting, “If you waded out beyond the shore, would the ocean part for you? Would you walk on its surface, light as the stars’ reflection? Would you remember how to swim? Would the water pour into your lungs, and in the last desperate moments of your life, finally sate the gaping hole inside you?” Below the note is a sticker of a planet with rings. Beside that, a third, smaller, black note reads, “Would the ocean listen to the Universe too, and know you are god?” The words ‘you are god’ are written in zalgo style.

Under these notes, the bottom half of the background consists of several hands reaching toward the viewer from a black void. A large sticker with the word “listen” sits in the bottom right corner of the page, along with a sticker of a flower missing a petal and a bright red smashed tomato. End Video Description.]

Mother

Video Description
[An A4 sized page with a photo of a starry sky in the top right corner; the remainder of the background is blurry.

A torn paper descends from the top of the page, reading, “this time of night, when the borders blur between sky, sea, and ground.” Crude drawings of four-pointed stars in white appear in the right corners of the page and slowly flash.

The background image in the top left comes into focus: it’s a pale hand holding a small mound of black sand in its palm. “Walking on stars” is written in marker next to the handful of black sand.

A large five-pointed star sticker appears near the top right corner. Then, above the sticker, a paper scrap appears with a label that reads “Izarren ama, The big mother” crossed out.

A drawn white arrow fades into view and floats slowly from the paper scrap to a point in the starry sky photo. Under the hand appears the definition of “mother” torn from a dictionary page. Scraps of paper popping in beside the definition read “Feels like: safety, a guide, the world.” An anchor charm floats onto the page beside the dictionary definition.

A note comes up in the bottom left corner with handwriting that reads, “The Universe chose xem to serve as the bridge delivering you to Earth, and when the time comes that you shed this mortal body, xe will guide you once again to swim amongst the stars with your people, unbound by time, in the loving arms of the nebula that created you.”

The largest background image comes into focus: the silhouette of a woman’s face against a sunset. The words “I love you” written in marker phase into view below the woman’s head. A sticker of a pale gray four-pointed star pops onto the page above this writing.

To the left comes a note with a foreign phrase typewritten on it; a scribbly black blob covers the writing to the point of illegibility. Between the note and ‘I love you’, the word “means” appears, and then “in [unintelligible]” in marker. Eraser marks appear over the typewritten note, along with the word “sorry” written in small letters in the corner of that note.

The words “I have transcended humanity” pop into view, written in block letters in bright red marker over the bottom third of the page. Notably, ‘transcended’ takes two lines, and ‘humanity’ is crammed into a corner. End Video Description.]

Euphie

Video Description
[An A4 paper, where a dark graph paper background cuts across the top third of the page. A ticket stub that says “A day at the museum” comes into view in that top portion, and then pop in negative cutouts of people who have been frozen -- crying, praying, shouting, hiding, etc.

Then comes a scrap of paper with a handwritten note reading “Your eyes seek threat in movement, and when they find none, they invent their own.”

Then, a butterfly sticker on the corner of a signed polaroid of Euphrasie with stark black and white coloring; her name and photo have been scratched out in pen. A speech bubble pointing from her photo says “And I know you are full of love too, or you would not be so passionate. That’s why I want better from you.” The phrase “Shut up” appears in marker over the bubble text.

Another two speech bubbles, pointing to a graphic of a caterpillar forming a chrysalis, say “I want you to be better” and “You’re better than that,” and “Shut up” is written over both of them in larger letters.

Finally, a speech bubble appears near the bottom of the page, reading “You’ll never get better at this rate." The bubble is attributed to a middle aged man with an earring, whose photo with a doodle of a heart pops into the bottom middle of the page.

A photo of someone holding a cat head-shaped mug fades in beside his portrait, along with the words “Have some licorice root tea.” Coffee rings appear overtop of the portrait, which is then torn down the middle.

Lastly, an illustration of a hand holding a knife pops in behind the man’s torn portrait, with the knife facing away from him. End Video Description.]

Outside

Video Description
[Starting with a plain white A4 paper background, a lined note descends from the top of the page, reading “Step 4: Get to Dormont. Step 5: Take Dormont House. Step 6: Wait for the Universe to give you your due.” Step 5 is then crossed out.

A bookmark reading “This is the best!” comes down next to it. A piece of graph paper with a subtle drawing of the sun and a white matted frame floats into the top left corner. This paper reads “The light is blinding — that blazing orb in the darkless sky. As above, you burn from below, stinging hot sand rough on your back. It's so hot you can barely breathe.” Beside this comes a cutout photo of a closed eye with the words “don’t look outside.”

Two jagged scraps of paper cut into the sides of the page, followed by a sticker with a simple drawing of a palm tree on an island. Then, quickly, a large hole is torn into the paper, revealing a black background streaked with red and the blackened negative of a realistic palm tree. The animation lingers on this hole for a moment, before a dark droplet forms on the bookmark and the cutout of a dirty, fluffy dog pops up behind the lifted part of the torn paper.

The bottom left corner of the page turns white with a singed black border. The words “stranger bright one disciple traveler traitor countryman harbinger neighbor victim sibling in the universe survivor interloper lost one beast villain kin enemy” quickly appear typewritten over the bottom half of the page. Halfway through the typing, a photo appears of a young woman who’s meant to look like Mirabelle, her hands raised in prayer. Tape and a scrap of paper line the top of the photo. Mirabelle’s photo is circled in black ink, and then the words “How many times did you kill me?” are written on the scrap of paper above her.

Finally, a black chess king piece falls from the viewer down onto the page, sideways as if toppled. End Video Description.]

Daughter

Video Description
[An A4 paper, the background is a collage of photos of mostly locations like old fashioned apartment buildings and mountains. Half a dozen sewing pins are stuck one at a time in various photos at different angles.

Near the bottom left corner of the page, a black scrap of paper appears with the white text, “You’ve never been here before. You’ll always wind up back here.”

Midway up the page, on the left, appears a photo of a woman happily cuddling a baby, with a sticker of a diaper pin in the corner of the photo. A white scrap appears a bit of a ways from the bottom right corner of that photo. Someone draws little hearts over the baby, scribbles over the woman’s face, and writes “How long until I leave?” on the white paper. Then a small streak of paint washes over the baby’s face.

Near the top right corner appears a square glamor shot of a young woman with curly hair and crossed arms. The words “This is why she never visits” are written in marker beside and over the glamor shot; the words ‘this,’ ‘never,’ and ‘visits’ are underlined, with the final underline animated to move side to side.

A painter comes into view to roll paint over the bottom right quarter of the page. Long black scratch marks run from the top left to the bottom right corners, off the edge of the page.

Finally, in very large marker letters that span the width of the page, someone writes “Stars.” End Video Description.]

Reminder

Video Description
[A mostly white A4 page with grungy black along the top edge. “Reminder:” is written near the top left-hand corner. The rest of the page is blank.

For about 17 seconds, the image is completely still.

In the final half-second of the video, a small drop of red blood pops onto the page, running off the bottom edge. End Video Description.]
